As you look on the church landscape, youth are leaving the faith in droves. The modern church, overall, is struggling to reach the next generation with the gospel. What has happened? Does the following statistic concern you as much as it does me?
60%-88% of children raised in Christian homes reject the faith by the time they leave their parents’ home at age 18.
In being confronted with this statistic, my husband and I began asking the following questions: why is this? Apart from God’s sovereignty in salvation, what human factors might be contributing to this trend?
Well, we were pleased to discover that a filmmaker had already set out to answer questions like these in a compelling film on the modern Youth Ministry movement, entitled, “Divided.” I commend it to you as an interesting piece, worthy of your consideration.
