We’re Off!

Map of the PhilippinesMy husband, son and I are leaving today for a short-term missions trip in the Philippines. My husband will be serving alongside a local missionary, teaching a course in Hermeneutics to a group of local Filipino Pastors at a Seminary near Manilla (the capital city).

Please join us in prayer for the following requests:

1) The Lord would be glorified through our ministry to the local missionary family and the Pastors attending the Hermeneutics course.

2) The Lord would grant us all (including the local Pastors, many whom will be traveling long distances to attend this course) safety.

3) The Lord would be pleased to use our family as a testimony and witness of His grace, kindness and mercy toward His children as we travel (i.e. during our flight and in-country travels).

4) The Lord might provide us with “divine appointments” with non-believers, with whom we might be privileged to share the Gospel.

Thank you for your intercession before the Throne of Grace. It is a blessing to have you partner with us through prayer to help equip local Filipino Pastors to spread the glories of His grace through the preaching of His Word.

About Elizabeth

I am a sinner, saved by grace striving to increase in the knowledge of my Savior and His precious Word each day. The reader should know that there are a few presuppositions with which I approach this blog: 1) I believe in the biblical gospel, which basically purports that all mankind is born under the curse of sin (due to the sin of Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden). Therefore, man is separated from God and can have no relationship with God because He is perfectly holy, not even able to look upon sin. Unfortunately, God is also perfectly just and must not only separate Himself from sin, but must also punish it. In order to reconcile man to Himself, God, the Father, sent God, the Son, down to earth to live as a man and take our sins upon Himself on the cross. While on the cross, God, the Son, bore the full weight of the wrath of God, the Father, against our sins in order that we who believe in Him might be set free from the curse of our sin. God, the Son, Jesus Christ, died as a propitiation for our sin in order to appease God, the Father's, holy and just character, redeem us from sin, and reconcile those who believe in this gospel to God, the Father. 2) I am primarily writing to those who already believe in this biblical gospel. In other words, this blog is not focused on evangelizing the lost, but edifying believers. 3) I believe that the Christian Bible is the very word of God. Therefore, it is completely inerrant, infallible, sufficient, and authoritative in the life of a believer.

    Hey Geneyem,

Thank you so much for praying for us. Just to encourage you, the prayers of the saints were definitely sensed during our trip. Our Lord was so kind & gracious in answering our requests.

Also, I just wanted to thank you for your kind offer for assistance. Praise God, everything actually went quite well, but it was a blessing to know that there were resources available if we needed them.

You are a blessing and an encouragement, sister. I pray that all is well with you, your husband, and your beautiful little ones. May our Lord richly bless you all this day!
